Happy Leap Day! Boy was I thankful to have this extra day. I hadn’t made my meal plan yet for March so I took advantage and got it done. Check it out below. Links to most of the recipes will be right below the calendar. If there is not a link yet I will add the recipe when we have it again and add it to them. One thing we figured out last month is that we like to have a free day to eat out or have something simple, like sandwiches or cereal, so that was added on Fridays of this meal plan.

Recently, my husband and I have started using the Kon Mari method to tidy our house. With three kids and three adults in our house, things can get out of hand quickly. We have lots of clutter. I mean LOTS! So this is a journey I am truly looking forward to. The main principle of this method is to only keep things in your home that spark joy. In Marie Kondo’s book The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up, she breaks your home down into categories. Some of these include clothing, books, papers, office, kitchen and pantry. The idea is to complete one category at a time, rather than one room at a time. We have almost completed our clothing. Marie says not to organize things until you have gotten rid of the items you chose not to keep. This will help combat burn out and keep you on track. Between my kids, my husband, and myself, we have 8 bags of clothes to get rid of plus a huge bin of shoes. Once we have discarded these items, I will organize our closets and dressers and move on to the next category.
I can’t wait to see where this journey takes us! Once we are finished I won’t have a panic when a guest drops by unannounced. I won’t be embarrassed about my home. I will be able to entertain friends without a day of cleanup before hand. If you want to get rid of the clutter in your home I highly recommend reading this book and let me hear about your journey to reduce clutter in the comments!
