Overcoming the Laundry Pit

We have all been there, drowning in a pit of laundry. This has been my life for years. I get overwhelmed with how much laundry there is to do, put it off and then spend the better part of two days trying to catch up. No more!!

With the start of the school year as a first time homeschooling momma I knew I had to do better. So I have put into place a new system. It has worked so well that I thought I would share it with y’all. Who knows, maybe it will change your life too!

I use laundry pods so when the washer is empty I throw in a pod. At the end of each day everyone’s clothes go straight into the washer. No hampers, no laundry baskets, no piles of clothes in the floor. Each night before bed I start the machine and switch the clothes when I get up the next morning. When the dryer stops, the kids and I fold and put away the laundry. Its such a simple idea, and takes no time at all. Now if you are a laundry sorter, this may not work for you. I however, have never been one to separate laundry into categories. I just throw it all in and wash on cold.

I can’t tell you how much easier this has made getting laundry done. I have one small load per day instead of a trillion loads in 2 days when everyone runs out of underwear.
